The End of the Endless Nights

As you read in Peter’s last post, the internship has finally come to an end. It has been a wild ride! It was quite an atypical summer for me. No time for bike rides. No trips to the beach or the zoo. No time for lazy evening meals out on the deck. But, these summer pastimes were not given up in vain—I’m happy to announce that I was officially hired at the end of our term, and I’m now a full-time developer at Pixel Farm Digital!!

Along with a new job, I have to steal a quote from Peter’s last post and say that I have also gained more knowledge than any bachelors degree can buy. The skills you learn in a place like this are things you can’t get in any school.

This is the most amazing place I have ever worked. I feel like I’m at summer camp every day. Not because the office is stylish, or because there are free bagels every morning—it’s the people. (Free bagels are pretty awesome, though. haha ) I am so proud to be an official part of the Pixel Farm Digital team, and love going to work every day with such fun, talented and hard-working folks!

Final words: If you’re an up-and-coming creative and you ever get a shot at a Pixel Farm Digital internship, DO IT! It will change the way you work and the way you think about advertising.

Farewell from Peter

Greetings Everyone!

So, the internship ended about 2 weeks ago. Friday, November 5th to be exact.

Unfortunately, I will not be staying with Pixel Farm Digital.

This whole experience has been mind boggling and a mind fuck if you will…and I mean that in the best way possible, seriously! I came into this internship knowing nothing about the ad world, but came out 6 months later gaining more knowledge than any bachelors degree can buy!

Advertisement is not for everyone. She is a cruel mistress! But I’m proud to say I stuck through it and didn’t even crack once. Well, maybe a couple of times, but the important thing is I didn’t give up.

My advice to anyone who’s trying to get into this field: I say, do it! But get ready for inflexible deadlines, say goodbye to your social life, and get ready to push yourself till it hurts! Oh, and keep a sleeping bag close by. Not saying this is every shop, but you gotta go into it with that mentality.

As for me, I’m going to continue finding my dream job. Whatever that is. Maybe another ad agency? But either way, I’m going to continue doing things I like to do!

Stay tuned to find out the fate of Rachelle and Tommy!

It’s been real. Thanks for reading everyone!

This is Peter Chang signing out!

But wait, there’s more…

Dear Internet,
Today is the last day of our internship, or at least it would have been. In a surprise twist suitable for only the most suspenseful of M. Night Shyamalan movies, we have been asked to continue our internship for an extra month. Why, you ask? Well Internet, lots of reasons. But one of the biggest is a project that we finally get to tell you about.

International Market Square

About 2 months ago, Pixel Farm Digital became the agency of record for the Minneapolis landmark International Market Square. Everyone at the Farm, including us, has been hard at work on a wide range of projects including ads, films, and an all new website (which was designed, written, and developed in a mind blowing 3 weeks!).

We’re sticking around to finish up some cool projects and tie up some loose ends. But stay tuned, because one month isn’t a lot of time and our fates are still looming overhead.
